Choosing
the "Fit" between One's Typology, the Requirements of
a Job and the Characteristics of an Organization
This application
is designed to translate the individual's personality information
to the workworld. The first general task of the workbook is to explore
the implications of one's personality and identify the characteristics
of desired work. Would these characteristics challenge the individual
and promote further development or, for example, would they essentially
parallel the individual's personality profile?
Armed with sound
knowledge of his or her Typology, the individual examines several
jobs and decides if they do or do not meet the characteristics that
have been specified.
The third area
involves the relationship between a particular job and the culture
of the organization in which the job exists. Here the question is,
"do you want to work in an organizational culture that is similar
to the way your personality functions or do you want the organizational
culture surrounding your job to challenge you to further develop?"
