Can be used to measure personality changes through time

The SL-TDI asks the individual completing the inventory to indicate what she or he actually does. By having the respondent focus on how he or she currently operates, the results of each administration of the SL-TDI can be compared to earlier scores and shed light on how the individual's personality expression has or has not changed through time. By measuring how the person actually functions, that is describing what is involved in how the personality functions at a particular point in time, the SL-TDI can be readily used for before and after research studies—with the normal cautionary statement that for standard psychometric reasons the SL-TDI should not be re-administered in less than six months.
