What does SL-TDI measure?

The SL-TDI is designed on the assumption that inner traits, also known as instincts, and the external environment (life experiences) influence the expression of personality. Instead of the familiar either/or forced choice used by other Type inventories, the SL-TDI uses a both/and structure. This can be seen in the fact that the inventory provides twenty different situations that represent a wide variety of environments and asks the respondent to indicate how much she or he would use each of eight Type traits in each specific environment.
